Boring old Terms & conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Nobody enjoys reading through terms and conditions, but you should know what you have signed up for. Below you will find our T&C to make sure everyone can have an enjoyable day out. We hope none of them become applicable for your group, but it is best if you have a glance over them just in case.

The following booking conditions will form the contract between you, the Customer, and the tour operator, Cheeky Kea Ltd. The Customer who is named on the invoice is responsible and liable for any breaches of the T&C below. This contract is valid from the time a deposit has been received by Cheeky Kea Ltd. If something is not clear or you have any questions, please get in contact with us to discuss.

Bookings

Inquiring about a tour does not constitute a booking until a deposit is received.

To make a booking, a non-refundable deposit equal to $50 cost is required. Be aware that by paying the deposit you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions and entering into a contract with Cheeky Kea Ltd.

Once a deposit is received, we will proceed to book you into the required venues. If there are any issues with your booking, we will get in contact to discuss options. If we are unable to facilitate your booking, your deposit will be refunded. The deposit paid will be subtracted from your final invoice balance.

Final payment of your tour is required no later than 1 day before your tour date.

Tastings, transport, lunch, snacks, and any additional services, as stated in your invoice, are included in your tour cost. If you have requested specific wineries, breweries, or other activities, these costs will also be stated in your invoice. If there are any additional services required, please make sure to contact us at least 7 days before your tour date. We will try our best to accommodate these changes, but they are not guaranteed.

Pick up times can vary depending on your tour and venue availability. If you have a preferred start or finish time, please notify us at the time of booking. We will try our best to accommodate these requirements. If no start or finish time is stipulated at booking, you will be allocated one depending on venue availability and you will be informed a week prior to your tour once we have received pick up locations. Please note that changes cannot be made at this time due to scheduling requirements.

Pick up location will be set a week prior to your tour. A maximum of 3 pickups is available. Anymore, must be approved in writing at the time of booking. Pickups outside of Christchurch city boundary may incur a surcharge.

We understand that things can change that is why we do not hold you to the number of people you booked for at the time of original booking. However, if your group size changes the per person cost may change also. This is to cover the costs of the vehicle and driver that was assigned to your group at the time of booking. If you think your group will increase in size, please get in contact with us as soon as possible. We will need to check that we have a vehicle available to suit and that the venues have additional space. Please ensure all members of your party are aware of this policy to avoid any surprises if there is an increase in your tour cost.

Cancellation Policy

We do not offer refunds for your deposit unless there are exceptional circumstances e.g., natural disaster.

If you cancel your booking within a week of your tour date, the following fees will apply:

  • 1 week: $200

  • 3 days: 50% of the total booking

  • 24 hours: 75% of the total booking

If your group size reduces in size within 3 days of your tour date, then the total number of people confirmed before this date must be paid for.

Tour Information

The minimum age to participate in alcohol tastings is 18. However, if someone in your group is under the age of 18 and would like to come on board, let us know and we can make some changes to accommodate this. Be aware that proof of age may be requested by any venue where alcohol is served.

Please make sure you bring the proper identification (NZ driver’s license for locals and a passport for foreigners), otherwise, you will not get any winesies or beersies and no refund will be provided.

Please make sure your group is all set and ready to go by the established pick-up time. Whilst we have the longest stops at each destination, they are still allocated slots. If we are late to depart because your group is not ready, then we cannot guarantee you will be able to complete your tastings in the allocated time. No refund will be given under these circumstances.

In the event of unfavourable weather, some venues may be cancelled. We will try and book into alternative venues. If unsuccessful, you will receive a refund for the cost of tastings at each of these wineries.

Some wineries have gone smoke and vape free. Please refrain from smoking or vaping at these locations or you may be asked to leave. No refund will be given.

Behaviour While on Tour

While having a great fun day out is one of our top priorities for our customers, some basic rules apply. We hope we never have to enforce any of the below conditions, however, warnings will be given to your group if any problems arise.

Cheeky Kea Ltd holds the right to cancel your tour if any terms mentioned in this document, but not limited to, are breached. The Customer shall remain liable for any sums due under this Agreement and Cheeky Kea Ltd shall have no liability to the Customer and no refunds shall be provided.

Venues follow strict protocols about customer behaviour, and will not serve customers who are intoxicated or are deemed too rowdy or raucous. Remember, these are tours and not party bus trips.

Groups are required to be mindful and respectful of other guests and to ensure their behaviour does not interfere with the enjoyment of other customers.

When having fun most of us can get a little loud. Please refrain from yelling and screaming while at the venues.

Challenges are a big part of any kiwi hens or stag do. While they are a lot of fun, they can be annoying or offensive to other people. Challenges involving people outside your group are not permitted. Please let us know if you wish to conduct any challenges so we can make the appropriate booking requests for you to have the freedom to fulfill these challenges.

People wearing inappropriate attire and/or accessories may be refused entry to venues.

Taking of venue property such as wine glasses is theft. Venues hold the right to check bags and the vehicles if they suspect anyone of stealing. If caught, venues hold the right to have you charged with theft. Most locations sell merchandise including wine glasses, if you want a souvenir, ask the venue's staff.

By law, you are unable to consume alcohol (without a license), smoke or vape onboard a commercial vehicle. Anyone caught drinking alcohol (without a license), smoking, or vaping onboard our vehicles without prior written consent will be charged a $300 instant fine per offense.

If the above breaches are noticed by law enforcement any fines accrued will also be passed onto the Customer.

If you wish to apply for an alcohol license, a separate T&C apply. Please get in contact with us to organise this.

Additional Cleaning

While we understand accidents happen if a vehicle is left in an abnormally messy condition e.g., vomit or spilled drinks, a $250 cleaning fee may apply.

Photography

Photos taken during your tour will be edited and sent to you. From time to time, some of these images may be used by Cheeky Kea Ltd for promotional purposes. Please advise if you do not wish us to take any photos.

Well, that’s enough of that. We look forward to having you on-board and hope you have an amazing day.
