Boring old Terms & conditions

Nobody enjoys reading terms and conditions. In fact, most of us do not even bother these days but bear with us. Below you will find our terms and conditions to make sure both, you and us, have the best trip possible. We hope we never have to use any of them but it's best if you have a glance over them just in case.



The following booking conditions will form the contract between you and the tour operator, Cheeky Kea Ltd. This contract is valid from once a deposit has been received.



Whilst we understand that you are inquiring about further tour details, your inquiry does not constitute a booking until a deposit is received. We recommend that if you have inquired sometime earlier, please recheck availability for your tour date.
To make a booking, a non-refundable deposit of 1 person is required. Be aware that by paying the deposit you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions. This deposit will be deducted from your final payment. The remaining balance of your tour cost and confirmation of numbers is required at least 7 days prior to your tour.

Tastings, transportation, lunch, snacks, and any additional services, as stated in your invoice, are included in your tour cost. If you have requested specific wineries, the surcharge may also be stated in your invoice. If additional services are required, please make sure to contact us at least 7 days before your tour date.

We run a fixed price model. The cost of the day is divided by the number of people you have in your group. Vehicles and drivers are allocated to your group at the time of booking. If your group size changes, then additional costs may apply to cover this fixed cost. We try to be as flexible as possible, so don’t be afraid to ask.

Please ensure all members of your party are aware of our policy.

Cancellation Policy

We do not offer refunds for your deposit unless there are exceptional circumstances e.g. COVID-19. If you cancel your booking within a week of your tour date, the following fees will apply:

  • 1 week: $200

  • 3 days: 50% of the total booking

  • 24 hours: 75% of the total booking

If your group size reduces within 3 days of your tour date, the total number of people before that date will have to be paid for.

Please ensure all members of your party are aware of our policy.

Tour Information

Pick up times can vary depending on your tour arrangements. If a pickup time has not been set at the time of booking, you will be informed a week prior to your tour. Please note that this cannot be changed due to scheduling requirements. 

Pick up location will be set a week prior to your tour. A maximum of 3 pickups are available. Anymore, must be approved in writing at time of booking. Pickups outside of Christchurch city boundary, may incur a surcharge. 

Please make sure your group is all set and ready to go by the established pick-up time. Whilst we have the longest stops at each destination, they are still allocated slots. If we are late to depart because your group is not ready, then we cannot guarantee you will be able to complete your tastings in the allocated time. No refund will be given under these circumstances.

Please note that the wineries and breweries follow strict protocols about customer behaviour, and will not serve customers who are intoxicated, or are deemed too rowdy or raucous. Groups are required to be mindful and respectful of other guests and to ensure their behaviour does not interfere with the enjoyment of other diners. Challenges that involve other customers will not be tolerated. If you are unsure about any of these rules, please contact us and we will do our best to clarify them for you.

Inappropriate attire and/or accessories, will not be tolerated at the wineries or breweries. 

If you are refused service at a winery or brewery, no refund will be provided. 

Minimum age 18 years to participate in wine and beer tasting. However, if someone in your group is less than 18 years of age and would like to come on board, let us know and we can make some changes to make this happen. Be aware that proof of age may be requested by the wineries and breweries. Please make sure you bring the proper identification (NZ driver's license for locals and a passport for foreigners), otherwise, you will not get any winesies or beersies and no refund will be provided.

Cheeky Wine Tours hold the right to cancel any booking due to unruly behaviour at any stage. No refund will be given. This includes but is not limited to

  • Intoxication

  • Drug use

  • Loud or inappropriate behaviour

  • Complaints from winery staff

We also hold the right to abandon a tour if the behaviour is out of control or a driver feels unsafe.

Warnings will be given in advance. We hope to never have to use any of these conditions, but we do need to keep our staff safe and our working relationship with the wineries.

In the event of unfavourable weather, some locations may be cancelled. We will try and book into alternative locations. If unsuccessful you will receive a refund for the cost of tastings at each of these wineries.

Wineries and/or breweries on your tour may not be the same as what was specified at the time of booking. In the current climate with COVID-19 who is open and who is closed is constantly changing.


Additional Cleaning

If a vehicle is left in an abnormally messy condition e.g. vomit or spilled drinks a $250 cleaning fee may apply. We do understand that accidents happen.


By law, you are unable to consume alcohol onboard a commercial vehicle without a license. Anyone caught drinking onboard without prior written consent will be charged a $300 instant fine.

All vehicles are strictly non-smoking by law. This includes vaping and e-cigarettes.

Non-compliance with a Driver’s request for passengers to refrain from drinking alcohol, the smoking of tobacco or consumption of illegal narcotics may result in summary termination of the journey, cancellation of any other parts of a booking and, in such circumstances, the Customer shall remain liable for any sums due under this Agreement and the Company shall have no liability to the Customer and no refunds shall be provided.

Breaches of the above will incur a $300 fine per offense.



Photos taken during your tour may be used for promotional purposes.  Please advise if you do not wish us to take any photos.
